Fresh Beginnings........

It's been quite sometime since I updated this blog. So I will give a run down in just a few sentences.  We survived deployment. My husband came home early in September!!!  That's enough about that.

Since my blog was dedicated to his deployment and he has returned, I have shifted focus a bit so in the new few weeks or so there will be a large number of changes with the blog so bear with me just a bit!

Well, F and I went just flew into TN from NY (HER FIRST PLANE TRIP!) only for the shortest trip in history because we are turning right around with my mom and driving back to get my husband this week (thanks mom, it will be such a wonderful change to have company on our 1100 mile journey AGAIN in  a month). Crazy the amount of mileage my toddler has logged in her travel book in less than 2 years. She has been simply amazing with it all. I could not be more proud of her.

She took her first plane ride and this was not an easy flight. It was two express flights which means, teeny tiny planes the kind you have to walk out onto the tarmac and climb the airplane stairs to get in. Not an easy feat carrying a 27 pound toddler, a large carry on, a huge ::cough Purse aka another carry on cough:: and her activity backpack. Not easy indeed. Luckily, the airline allowed me to wheel our huge joggy stroller onto the tarmac where the baggage guy then took it before my eyes and stuffed it under the plane.  US Airways was amazing!! Not a smudge nor scratch on our stroller during 2 flights everything was perfect, no delays, we were running a little early which was nice.

Now F's first flight. She took her shoes off like a big girl and walked through the security gate all by herself without mommy like such a big girl. I was so proud of her! They said I could carry her but she wanted to walk. She played in the airport terminal, making everyone giggle at her craziness.

On the first flight she promptly fell asleep in my lap (the first time in a very long time). Then woke to have a snack and talk to everyone around her. Never crying at all. She was so brave and was excited to being going for a ride on a plane.

The second flight we had a few hour layover in the terminal where she actually got to watch our plane come in and see that we were getting on a plane. She was so excited!

This last flight she simply had a snack, played with her toys and recited her numbers for everyone. She was such a good girl. Even fellow passengers remarked at how great she did. At least now I can check off this traveling fear off of my list since once again my little girl proved me wrong. I thought for certain I would be that mom on the plane begging my child to stop screaming.

As soon as she saw my parents when we got out of baggage claim she nearly leaped from her stroller in excitement screaming " MY PAPA, MY PAPA!" Clearly we had been gone too long for her liking. She was so excited to be home again and see her favorite dogs and THEIR NEW 8 puppies....yes they had another litter by a very huge accident. They are beautiful and healthy and all of them are F's according to her. hahah!

So this very difficult chapter (year) of our lives is almost to a close. Once we get back up north to pick up my husband and head home to TN, things will finally be getting back to some sort of normalcy. My little girl will have daddy back, I will have my husband back and we can begin to heal from the events of this very trying year. What doesn't break us, makes us stronger but in the end Family is the ONLY thing that matters. No one else that may walk in or out of our lives ever will leave more than a distant memory  but never a lasting impact because eventually they too shall fade as if they never existed. So be it, I have all that I need anything or anyone else is just gravy.
